Air Conditioning Installation
Make cooling part of a considered plan for your home, rather than choosing a unit by floor area alone. Pro Plumbers surveys and installs air conditioning in Sevenoaks, matching equipment to the rooms you actually use.
ABOUT THIS SERVICE
Planning a suitable cooling system
From 11 Lime Tree Walk, Sevenoaks TN13 1YH, Pro Plumbers brings 15 years trading to domestic installation work. A survey gives us the opportunity to discuss comfort, appearance, access and budget before specifying equipment. We consider Daikin, Mitsubishi and Worcester Bosch options according to the property and the available product range, rather than assuming one model suits every bedroom, office or living space. Our business credentials include Gas Safe, OFTEC, F-Gas (REFCOM) and G3, and we are a Worcester Bosch accredited installer; each qualification relates to its own area of work, not a blanket approval for every installation task.

OUR PROCESS
How It Works
01
Survey rooms and routes
We assess heat gains, agree indoor locations and examine possible pipework and drainage routes before preparing a proposal.
02
Confirm equipment and enabling work
Your quotation identifies the selected units, outdoor position and any electrical or access requirements that need resolving.
03
Install and commission the system
After fitting, we complete the required checks, record commissioning information and demonstrate cooling, heating and timer settings.
BENEFITS
What our installation planning covers
Room-specific selection
Sizing takes account of glazing, occupancy and insulation, helping avoid equipment chosen solely from a floor-area estimate.
F-Gas for refrigerant installation
F-Gas certification through REFCOM supports the qualified handling of refrigerant during the installation process.
Practical handover
You receive guidance on controls, filter access and routine care, so the new system is easier to use from the outset.
A survey that looks beyond room dimensions
A south-facing room with extensive glass behaves differently from a shaded bedroom of the same size. We look at window orientation, insulation, ceiling height, equipment and likely occupancy when assessing the cooling load. Tell us whether doors normally remain open and which rooms need comfort at the same time. An oversized unit can cycle frequently, while insufficient capacity may struggle during warmer conditions; neither problem is solved by selecting the largest model that fits the wall.
Wall-mounted units or ceiling cassettes
Wall-mounted indoor units are often practical where there is a suitable external wall and enough clearance for airflow and servicing. Ceiling cassette units offer a different appearance and air distribution pattern, but need adequate ceiling void space, support and maintenance access. A cassette is not automatically suitable simply because a room has a suspended ceiling. We also consider where condensate will drain and whether a pump would be necessary, because that choice affects installation complexity and ongoing maintenance.
Single-room systems and multi-split layouts
A single split pairs one indoor unit with one outdoor unit, whereas a multi-split can serve several indoor units from a shared condenser. Multi-split arrangements can reduce the number of outdoor units, although pipe lengths, capacity combinations and simultaneous demand must remain within manufacturer limits. Most domestic multi-splits cannot cool one room while heating another at the same time. We explain these operating constraints before you choose an arrangement for bedrooms and shared living areas.
Condenser positioning and consideration for neighbours
Outdoor equipment needs free airflow, secure mounting and a position that allows future servicing without unreasonable difficulty. We discuss nearby bedrooms, boundaries and neighbouring windows when considering noise and vibration, rather than focusing only on the shortest pipe run. Planning restrictions, listed buildings, conservation requirements or leasehold permissions may affect the proposal and should be checked before work starts. Screening must not obstruct the clearances the manufacturer requires, even where hiding the unit would improve its appearance.
Electrical supply and commissioning
Before installation, the electrical supply must be assessed for the selected equipment, including circuit capacity, protection and local isolation. Any necessary electrical work should be identified in the scope rather than discovered at handover. Commissioning follows the manufacturer’s instructions and includes appropriate pipework pressure testing, evacuation, leak checks and operational measurements. We check condensate disposal and explain how to switch modes, set a sensible temperature and clean accessible filters without disturbing electrical or refrigerant components.
Agreeing the installation scope
To discuss a survey, contact 01732 444555 with the number of rooms, property type and any preferred indoor positions. Minimum charge £90 + VAT, including the first hour on site; the installation itself needs a quotation reflecting equipment, access and the agreed scope. Mention planned decorating or building work, since pipe routes and fixing positions are easier to coordinate before finishes are complete. We distinguish the work proposed from optional additions so you can make an informed decision.

What Our Customers Say
“Had air con fitted by Sam. Did an excellent job and very fairly priced as well. Would recommend.”
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one outdoor unit serve several bedrooms?
A compatible multi-split may do this, subject to capacity, pipework limits and suitable indoor combinations. The survey establishes whether sharing an outdoor unit is practical for your layout.
Which air conditioning brands do you consider?
We discuss Daikin, Mitsubishi and Worcester Bosch systems in relation to room requirements, controls and installation constraints, with model availability confirmed during quotation.
Will a ceiling cassette fit in my existing ceiling?
That depends on void depth, structural support and access for pipework, drainage and future maintenance. A wall-mounted alternative may be more appropriate where space above the ceiling is limited.
Can newly installed air conditioning provide heating?
Many split systems are reversible heat pumps, but their heating performance and suitability depend on the selected model and outdoor conditions. We explain the intended role of heating before the specification is agreed.
Should I choose the outdoor position before the survey?
You can suggest a location, but leave the final choice open until clearances, sound, access and permissions have been considered together.
