ABOUT THIS SERVICE
Gas fault repairs after the emergency response
A suspected gas escape needs an emergency safety response before an ordinary repair appointment. Pro Plumbers is not the National Gas Emergency service and does not replace its role in making the property safe. Once that service has attended and made the situation safe, our Gas Safe engineers can investigate and repair the fault within the relevant scope of work. This may involve checking affected internal pipework, an appliance connection or other parts identified in the emergency findings. We ask you to keep any notice or paperwork left at the property so we can understand what has been isolated and why. Our Sevenoaks business has traded for 15 years and covers Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and surrounding villages within roughly 20 miles. We explain the proposed repair, the price and the checks needed before affected equipment can return to use.
Minimum charge £90 + VAT, including the first hour on site. Larger jobs get a fixed, no-obligation price.

OUR PROCESS
How It Works
01
Contact the emergency service first
Leave the property and call 0800 111 999 from outside. Follow the National Gas Emergency service’s instructions, not a routine booking process.
02
Share the safety findings
After the property has been made safe, tell us what has been isolated and share any warning notice or emergency paperwork.
03
Repair and verify
Our Gas Safe engineer assesses the fault, agrees the repair and carries out appropriate checks before any affected supply or appliance is returned to use.
BENEFITS
Why Choose us for Gas Leak Repairs?
A clear safety boundary
We repair faults after the emergency service has made the property safe, rather than presenting a repair visit as emergency isolation.
Gas Safe expertise
Appropriately qualified engineers assess affected gas pipework or appliance connections and explain the required remedial work.
Costs explained first
We discuss the repair scope and charges, with fixed, no-obligation prices for bigger jobs and a 1-year workmanship guarantee.
If you suspect a gas leak, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency service on 0800 111 999 from outside. Do not use electrical switches, smoke or use naked flames. Open doors and windows only if it is safe and does not delay leaving; turn off gas at the meter only if safe to do so. Follow the emergency service’s instructions. Pro Plumbers repairs the fault only once the National Gas Emergency service has made the property safe.
After the property has been made safe
Emergency attendance may leave the supply or a particular appliance isolated. Do not turn it back on yourself, even if the smell has disappeared. Isolation prevents use; it does not mean the underlying defect has been repaired. Keep any labels and notices in place and tell us exactly what the emergency engineer said. This information helps us plan the right repair visit without asking you to investigate gas fittings.
If anybody feels unwell or carbon monoxide exposure is suspected, leave the building and seek urgent medical assistance; call 999 for a medical emergency. Carbon monoxide has no smell, so the absence of a gas odour does not show that an appliance is safe. An alarm or suspected fumes should not be dismissed while waiting for a routine appointment. Safety instructions from the emergency services take priority over any repair arrangements.
Finding and repairing the affected section
Once access is safe, our engineer assesses the affected installation and the information left by the emergency service. The repair might concern accessible internal pipework or an appliance connection, but we cannot identify the cause reliably over the telephone. We explain what we find and whether any further access is needed. Work on the network or the meter may belong to the responsible network or meter operator rather than a domestic repair contractor.
The scope depends on the location and condition of the fault. A local repair and replacement of a longer damaged section are not interchangeable jobs. We discuss suitable options, any access disruption and the checks required afterwards before proceeding. If an appliance itself needs separate remedial work, we explain that distinction rather than implying that repairing one connection automatically resolves every possible problem with the appliance.

Our minimum charge is £90 + VAT including the first hour on site, and bigger jobs receive a fixed, no-obligation price before agreement.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I call you first if I smell gas?
No. Leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency service on 0800 111 999 from outside. Follow its instructions before arranging repairs.
Can I turn the gas back on after emergency attendance?
Do not restore an isolated supply yourself. The fault needs appropriate assessment, repair and checks before affected equipment can be safely returned to use.
What information should I give you?
Tell us what the emergency service isolated and share any notice or written findings. Do not remove labels or attempt to locate the leak yourself.
Do you repair every type of gas leak?
We assess relevant domestic gas installation faults within our scope. Network or meter-related faults may need the responsible network or meter operator.
How is the repair priced?
The minimum charge is £90 + VAT including the first hour on site. Bigger jobs receive a fixed, no-obligation price once the required work is understood.
